After being fully captivated by this mysterious female voice, I had to find out who she was and if she had any of her own material. I was in luck as I stumbled across the song, Breathe and once again was mesmerised by her fresh and honest sound. After rooting around for some information, I discovered that not only does she come from a musical background (both her parents were involved in the industry), but she too is very talented and co-produces her songs.

A few months later, and I have once again become obsessed with a new offering from Delilah and her distinctly recognisable voice. The single, Go is to be released by Atlantic records and what seems to becoming standard practice with her material, I am unable to not have it on replay. My next hit can't come soon enough....

Fabric

So, tomorrow night I am lucky enough to be visiting the musical hub that is Fabric, London. I am hoping it will be a quality night as the line up is pretty good, and I will be reunited with the group that I went to NASS Festival with at the beginning of the summer. We are all equally as passionate about having a great night whilst enjoying the music, so when combined with the location it's sure to be a good night. DJ's such as Modestep, J Majik & Wickaman, Scratch Perverts and Danny Byrd will all be playing, and it only seems right to share my excitement by sharing a link to a song that suits the mood just perfectly......

The Qemists- Fading Halo ft. There are the obvious reasons such as because it's from your favourite genre or artist, and yet there are some songs that due to the memories associated with hearing it that first time create a lasting impression.

Fading Halo by The Qemists is a classic example. I realise it is not a new song and there are probably other drum & bass artists equally if not more talented. However, I heard it for the first time last week whilst driving up a very steep and rugged mountain, surrounded by the beauty of the Lake District and with a car full of my friends.

As I drove my car higher, the tempo of the song grew and by pure chance reached it's climax as the road also came to the highest point. Was it the stunning scenery, the speed of both my car and the song, the sense of freedom or how I was with my closest friends that gave me the shivers? I couldn't tell you.

And maybe that's the point, rather than trying to understand the magic behind this song, I should just accept it.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://beyondtheradar.blogspot.com/2011/08/qemists-fading-halo-ft-chantal-of.html' title='The Qemists- Fading Halo ft. I have seen a range of artists and djs at this event and usually am already a fan of their music. However, I had not heard this Australian's music before and how I was missing out!! Following some research, I have discovered she is in fact causing quite a stir among several established artists, such as Mike Skinner and Skream and I am sure will continue to do so. If she wasn't cool enough what with her raw talent, great production and backing from the music industry then credit must also be given for her individual, accessible and fun choice of clothes and overall image.

Find the link to her SoundCloud profile and enjoy the mesmerising sounds of Kito........
http://soundcloud.com/thisiskito
